About the Studio
Clark Bardsley Design is a young, cross-disciplinary and award winning studio with a materials focused, observation led approach to objects and spaces.
Based in Auckland, New Zealand, CBD is experienced in industrial design for cities, manufacturers and service providers, with particular expertise in furniture, urban design, commercial spaces and domestic products. The studio is able to deliver a service from strategy to implementation across a range of product and production scales. But first we'll work collaboratively on a tight but unfailingly optimistic brief.
The studio was founded in 2013 by Clark Bardsley.
Clark is a New Zealand born designer educated at Victoria University in Wellington. His first job as a designer for Auckland based brass-ware brand Methven was a classic introduction to real world industrial design, particularly the opportunities and constraints of mass market and mass production. This experience put him in good stead for a new role in London as senior designer for eminent British cross-disciplinary studio PearsonLloyd. Eventually returning to New Zealand in 2013, Clark now applies his approach to a variety of roles, as director of CBD, as a designer for ALT group and a casual lecturer in industrial design at Auckland University of Technology.
Clark is a member of the Designers Institute of New Zealand.
